Wokingham Bulmershe Music Centre

Berkshire Maestros' Bulmershe Music Centre delivers music lessons and instrumental ensembles for children and young adults in the Woodley area. Based at Bulmershe School in Woodley, the centre benefits from excellent facilities.

The centre is a buzzing environment with high quality musical education at its heart, providing young people with a safe and friendly environment to learn and make new friends.

To find us, please enter the Bulmershe School site via the Chequers Way entrance and follow the road round to the right which will take you straight to the music block. Satnav users should use postcode RG5 3EH for the Chequers Way entrance to access the Music Centre.

At Bulmershe Music Centre we facilitate lessons after school on a Monday and Tuesday evening in a range of instruments and styles to suit all (subject to the availability of our teachers). We have a number of teaching rooms of varying sizes to run the lessons in and parents can wait if necessary.

Lessons are fun and interactive and provide children with the skills and knowledge to become excellent musicians. Sessions are tailored to individual needs and can build up to music examinations or simply focus on the enjoyment of playing. It might also be possible to hire an instrument from us if you are interested in lessons but don't own an instrument (subject to availability and our usual terms and conditions of instrument hire).

As well as instrumental lessons, Bulmershe Music Centre provides an opportunity for young musicians to join a variety of musical ensembles. These range from beginner bands to intermediate ensembles. At Bulmershe opportunities are available for wind ensembles and brass bands.

Our ensemble musicians at Bulmershe have the opportunity to progress from the intermediate ensembles to more advanced ensembles based either at Bracknell Music Centre or at Reading Music Centre in Tilehurst to enable them to progress further with their musical learning..

Ensembles provide a perfect opportunity for young musicians to enjoy playing as part of a team, improving and enhancing many areas of their learning. Ensembles also enable young musicians to come together to share a joint passion and create new lasting friendships.
