We have fulfilled some of our requirements for our range of ‘intern posts' (to new entrants to the profession starting September 2010) and are keen to hear from the most gifted and talented young musicians leaving Conservatoire or University in 2010 and looking for first employment particularly in the fields of Strings, Brass and Recorder. What is Berkshire Maestros?
Berkshire Maestros is a charitable trust providing a wide range of music services to children and young people in Bracknell Forest, Reading, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, West Berkshire and Wokingham. Every week Berkshire Maestros teaches approximately 10,000 children and organises a structure of bands, choirs and orchestras across the whole region.
Singing and instrumental lessons generally take place in schools during the school day and our dedicated Music Centres based in Bracknell, Newbury, Reading and Windsor provide these budding young musicians with the opportunity to come together after school and at weekends to take part in additional musical activities. Berkshire Maestros also provides a world class awards scheme to the most gifted and talented musicians.
Established in 1982 as the Berkshire Young Musicians Trust, but now known as Berkshire Maestros, we are passionate about music and are dedicated to bringing the joy of music-making to as many of Berkshire's young people as possible. Generally regarded as one of the finest youth music organisations in the country, we are also the preferred music provider of five of the Berkshire Unitary Authorities.
