 Advanced Pupils
If you reach an exceptionally high standard of musical ability, we will encourage you to take your learning a step further and audition for the following:

• a place on our County Achievement Scheme
• a place in one of our top bands, choirs and orchestras, known as our County Groups.

Edit category County Achievement Scheme: Gold Award Becoming a Gold Award holder represents the pinnacle of achievement for Berkshire’s young musicians. Just 70 places are available for our most gifted and committed young musicians. Whether you are hoping to go into the music profession, or just passionate about instrumental playing or singing, the Gold Award provides access to the highest level of music making and the chance to work with like-minded people under the guidance of professional performers and teachers.

Each week, Gold Award holders have access to an intensive programme of activities giving them the chance to work with a professional accompanist, play chamber music and improve posture through Alexander Technique sessions. Additional events during the year include workshops with eminent musicians or animateurs and trips to professional concerts.

Edit category County Achievement Scheme: Silver Award The Silver Award scheme facilitates opportunities for students to progress to the Gold Award. Activities provide the foundation for the challenges they will meet as they work towards the expectations for professional performance. There are frequent opportunities to perform in concerts and we organise a number of events throughout the year specifically for Silver Award holders.
