On Wednesday 10 February, Berkshire Maestros’ Windsor Music Centre is inviting children along to try out instruments at St Edmund Campion School in Maidenhead from 3.30pm – 5.30pm.

The event, entitled The Young Persons Guide to the Instruments, is aimed at children who have never tried learning a musical instrument as well as those who wish to learn an instrument but are undecided as to which one.

Live music demonstrations will be given by young players and Maestros professionals. Berkshire Maestros staff will also be on hand to enable children to try out an instrument/s and to answer any questions parents may have.

Catherine Arnold, Music Adviser for the Royal Borough of WIndsor & Maidenhead said: “I meet so many people who express regret at not having learnt or persevered with playing a musical instrument as a child, so it’s really vital that we as adults encourage and enable our children to have a go! There is rising awareness of the huge benefits learning music can have for children and with so many instruments to choose from this “Hands on Evening” is a really great opportunity. The Berkshire Maestros are a dedicated and inspirational group of teachers ready to impart their passion for music to the next generation.”

These opportunities are only available once a year so please come along and spread the word to family and friends who may also be interested.
