More about lessons
Lessons take place during the school day and we undertake to provide 30 lessons over the course of a full academic year. Students are grouped according to age and ability.
- Pupils normally start learning in a Standard Beginner Group.
- There are normally 3+ pupils in a group lesson (Standard Beginner or Standard Group). The lesson lasts for 30 minutes.
- If there are only 2 pupils in a group (Quick Start or Small Group), the lesson will last for 20 minutes.
- Occasionally pupils may begin in a Large Beginner Group. These lessons may last up to 40 minutes at the teacher’s discretion. This is often dependent upon the type of instrument taught.
- Where a student cannot be grouped with another student, or if a student is left as a group of one, we will offer an individual lesson rate.
How much does it cost?
There is a charge for all Berkshire Maestros activities. We are a non-profit making charity and our fees are set annually by our Board of Trustees. Take a look at our
tuition fees to see how much tuition will cost. Invoices are sent out at the start of every term and it helps us to keep your bill down if invoices are paid as soon as possible after you receive them.
What will I need?
You will need to provide instruments, music and accessories. There are several options open to you with regard to obtaining instruments and accessories. Find out more about them
here.
