Help with fees |
Berkshire Maestros, together with our local authority partners, is keen to ensure that all children are given the opportunity to learn a musical instrument, irrespective of family circumstances.
To this end, mechanisms are in place to offer financial assistance to families who may otherwise be unable to support and encourage their children’s musical development with Berkshire Maestros.
Berkshire Maestros has been awarded a substantial grant by The Earley Charity to support gifted and talented students who wish to take their musical study further but who may need financial assistance to do so. Maestros students living in Reading, Caversham, Earley and Winnersh (postcode areas RG1, RG2, RG4, RG6 and RG41) may apply for the Maestros Earley Charity Music Awards (MECMA).
The MECMA Study Award is for assistance with lesson costs, course fees or membership of the Academy @ Maestros Scheme, and is worth up to £1000.
The MECMA Study Support Grant is for help with the purchase of an instrument or other specialist equipment or music, or for assistance with one-off short course fees, such as a masterclass, workshop or conference, and is worth up to £250.
Applications for 2010/11 MECMA Awards and Study Grants now open! Closing Date: Friday 1October 2010. Application forms can be found below.
We are very grateful to the Lions Club of Windsor who fund a number of bursaries for promising youngsters showing genuine musical talent. The bursaries were set up in 2007, in honour of Lion Tony Fennymore, who passed away that year.
Six annual bursaries, intended to partially fund music lessons, are available to pupils currently learning with Berkshire Maestros. Any pupil under the age of 11 and living in the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead can apply for one of the bursaries subject to certain terms and conditions (see below).
